Provincial Surf Casting Championship Trial

On 5 October 2025, Diamante will take centre stage with the 2nd Round of the 2025 F.I.P.S.A.S. Provincial Surf Casting Championship, an official event of the Italian Federation of Sport Fishing and Underwater Activities, organised in collaboration with the ADPS Brutia Team and the Municipality of Diamante.

The competition area will be set up on the Lungomare Nuovo - Viale Glauco and, in case of adverse sea conditions, the competition will take place in front of the picturesque island of Cirella. The challenge will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m.

Around 90 athletes will compete in a discipline that requires technique, concentration and respect for the sea. Each catch will be recorded by federal inspectors and released immediately, in accordance with environmental and federal regulations.

At the end of the competition, there will be a federal award ceremony and a special award ceremony organised by the Municipality of Diamante.
