Cliffs of Cirella
Point of interest
Cliffs of Cirella is one of the most beautiful cliffs of the Tirreno Cosentino; extended for several hundred meters, north and south of Punta Cirella. It is easy to reach from the town of Cirella, located a few tens of meters. The reef starts just below the village of Cirella's winds so indented to form smaller marine breasts, north and south of the promontory of Punta Cirella, where in ancient times was built the port of ancient Cirella, the remains of which they are still partly visible on the promontory.
It is almost entirely accessible by a paved promenade, built on the surrounding plateau, which harmonizes well with the coastal environment; in contrast of the green of the walk, with the blue sea, especially during the winter period it is surrounded by the white foam of the waves crashing on the rocks. From the Cirella Cliff, it is clearly visible on the south side the town of Diamante and the namesake Island, on the north side of the Gulf of Policastro and the coasts of Campania and Basilicata.
