Badolato is one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy"

A beautiful certificate for extraordinary Calabria thanks to the beauty of its territory. The municipality of Badolato has been certified as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy" and thus it enters a national circuit of historical and landscape preservation. The official handover of the flag took place on Saturday, 14 January 2023, with national president Fiorello Primi speaking. An accolade for the entire region as well as for the ancient village founded by Robert Guiscard of Altavilla in 1080. The handing-over event took place with a large public participation in Piazza SS.mo Salvatore, in the presence of religious, military and civil authorities, provincial and regional institutional and political representatives, local associations and, indeed, the local community that invaded the streets in celebration. A curiosity: Badolato is the first municipality in the province of Catanzaro to obtain the flag and joins 15 other municipalities in the Calabria Region, "extraordinary" villages, it should be said, that have already been awarded the prestigious banner.
