Double artistic residency at MABOS: poetry and photography in dialogue

From 29 September to 5 October 2025, MABOS closes the Sense 2025 artistic season with an unprecedented proposal combining photography and poetry.
The first residency features Mario Cresci, master of photography and visual art, with the installation 'Specchianti', created among the museum's wooded terraces. The work explores the photochemical nature of film and its power to reflect reality, accompanied by the poetic vision of Elisa Longo, director of MABOS and poet in residence. The narrative through images is curated by Isabella Marino. The event also celebrates the centenary of the birth of photographer Mario Giacomelli, whose work is preserved at MABOS in the permanent exhibition dedicated to Franco Costabile.
At the same time, Massimo Mastrorillo will lead the residency 'From zero to zero. In praise of slowness', together with five young photographers selected through a call for applications (Andrea Agostini, Andrea Alessandrini, Debora De Canio, Mahtab Hoomanfar and Samuele Vincenti). The project explores new forms of expression based on metaphor, imagination and the interaction between poetry and photography.
