On Monday, August 4, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., an event dedicated to the presentation of the biography of master pastry chef Iginio Massari will be held in the reception hall of the L'Ottagono restaurant, in Contrada Santa Litterata in Belvedere Marittimo. The meeting represents a unique opportunity to learn about the professional and personal history of one of the most famous representatives of Italian pastry art in the world.
The evening will begin with institutional greetings from the mayor of Belvedere Marittimo, Vincenzo Cascini, and Luigi Salsini, president of the Fare Calabria association, the promoter of the initiative. The event will be attended by experts in the confectionery and food and wine sectors, including Francesca Impieri from the Gilò farm, Francesco Mastroianni, APEI master ice cream maker, and APEI master pastry chefs Valentino Rizzo, Damiano Rizzo, and Rocco Scutellà, who will share their professional experiences and their vision of Italian excellence in the field of pastry making.
A special moment of the evening will be dedicated to the reading of some significant excerpts from the book by photographer Ken Damy, who will offer the audience an intimate glimpse into the life and career of master Massari. The meeting will be hosted by journalist Lorella Lombardo, who will moderate the dialogue between the guests and facilitate interaction with the audience.
The highlight of the event will feature Iginio Massari, president of APEI, Ambassadors of Italian Pastry Excellence, who will recount his personal and professional journey, sharing anecdotes, reflections, and philosophies that have characterized his extraordinary career in the world of high-quality pastry.
