From 25 to 28 September 2025, Catanzaro will host the ninth edition of the Materia Independent Design Festival, which this year will become the Contemporary Mediterranean Fair, a major international event dedicated to design.
The Ente Fiera exhibition centre will host exhibitions, installations, talks, workshops and meetings with leading figures from the Italian and international creative scene in a space covering over 5,500 m². The festival thus becomes a platform for exchange and research that combines tradition, innovation, craftsmanship and new technologies.
Prominent guests include names such as Giuseppe Arezzi, Antonio Aricò, Emiliana Martinelli, Massimo Sirelli and Gerardo Sacco, together with designers, artisans and emerging brands who will recount the Mediterranean through contemporary languages.
The programme also includes CALL 2025 – Mediterranean between tradition and innovation, with research grants and awards dedicated to young talents, as well as a rich calendar of immersive experiences, evening activities, music and a food area celebrating the culinary excellence of Southern Italy.
Materia 2025 is an opportunity for professionals, students, families and enthusiasts to experience design as a collective and engaging experience, in a city that for four days will become the beating heart of Mediterranean creativity.
