From 24 to 29 November 2025, the FAI Days for Schools, the national initiative of the Italian Environment Fund dedicated to the knowledge and enhancement of cultural and landscape heritage, will return to Calabria. Now in its fourteenth edition, the event involves thousands of students throughout Italy in guided tours and activities that promote respect and protection of common goods.
The protagonists of the 2025 edition are the Apprendisti Ciceroni, young guides trained by FAI volunteers who will accompany their peers on a journey through history, art and identity. In Calabria, the Days will visit three fascinating locations: Santa Severina, Catanzaro and Vibo Valentia.
In Santa Severina, one of Italy's most beautiful villages, students from the Liceo Classico 'Diodato Borrelli' high school will guide visitors on a discovery of hidden corners, starting from the historic old fountain and along the ancient road that connected the city gates.
In Catanzaro, the Apprendisti Ciceroni from the city's high schools will talk about the Church and Convent of Santa Maria del Carmine, a Baroque complex linked to the religious tradition and silk history of the city, where sacred art and productive memory intertwine in a fascinating story.
In Vibo Valentia, the itinerary proposed by the Liceo Scientifico 'G. Berto' will take visitors to the medieval Borgonovo district of Monteleone, among alleys and historic residences that preserve traces of the city built by Frederick II of Swabia.
