A day as a beekeeper

Six appointments to experience a special day in the midst of nature, biodiversity and honey: “A beekeeper's day” is back, the immersive experience among the green giants of Sila, organised in collaboration with the National Association Miele in Fiore.

Guided by an expert beekeeper and accompanied along the paths of the Reserve by naturalist guides, participants will be able to discover the world of bees by wearing the classic protective suit, exploring a beehive up close and learning about the fundamental role of these insects for the health of the ecosystem.

The day's programme:

10:00 am - Walk among the Giants with a guide from the Reserve, who will introduce participants to the history and natural environment of the place.

10:30 a.m. - Demonstration and explanation of how a beehive works and the life cycle of honey bees.

11 a.m. - Dressed as real beekeepers, participants will be able to observe bees up close, learn how to distinguish honeycombs and frames, and - for those who wish - taste honey directly from the hive.

12 p.m. - Guided tasting of different types of honey, with insights into their properties, flavours and pairings.

Comfortable clothing is recommended: long trousers and closed-toe shoes. Protective overalls will be provided at the ticket office.
