Lake Cecita

Lake Cecita is an artificial lake created for the production of electricity in the province of Cosenza, in Sila Grande. The lake was built by locking with a dam Mucone River, which was born at the foot of Monte Curcio. Its shores are a destination, as well as tourists, even for fishing enthusiasts when it is practicable. 

Lake Cecita houses an important archaeological heritage discovered a few years ago, since the excavation began in 2004, which brought to light the ancient testimonies of Neanderthal man.
