Among the four Regional Nature Reserves, the latest to be established is the Regional Nature Reserve ‘’Giovino Dunes‘’, along the Ionian coast of Catanzaro (Catanzaro Lido), in the resort of the same name that has already been awarded the Blue Flag. The Regional Nature Reserve ‘’Giovino Dunes‘’, set up by the Region in synergy with the Dune Aps Association, falls within an area of inestimable environmental and naturalistic value: a coastal stretch of considerable ecological interest, which includes a rare dune ecosystem, very important for local biodiversity.
The Regional Nature Reserve ‘’Giovino Dunes‘’ is the custodian of unique flora and fauna species, which in this habitat have found the ideal context to grow and proliferate in absolute protection.
