From 24 to 31 May 2025, Southern Italy will once again be the protagonist with the Three Seas Race, a collective journey by bicycle through Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria, following in the footsteps of the historic stage race of the 1970s. A non-competitive event that combines passion for cycling, valorisation of the territory and promotion of a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
Organised by the La Storia in Bici association, this new edition will take place in seven stages for over 500 km, touching the three seas that bathe the Mezzogiorno - the Adriatic, Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas - in a route that passes through villages, hills, cities of art and extraordinary natural landscapes.
More than a race, the Three Seas Race is a shared experience, in which each ride tells the story of the South and enhances its history, culture and nature. It is an invitation to slow down, to listen to the stories of the places crossed, to create connections between people, rediscovering the pleasure of travelling as a moment of discovery and aggregation.
Calabria will be crossed by no less than five stages, touching on some of its most fascinating landscapes:
27 May: from Roseto Capo Spulico to San Demetrio Corone, passing through Sibari
28 May: Acri, Bisignano and arrival in Cosenza
29 May: from Cosenza to Amantea, passing through Carolei and the Valico di Potame
30 May: from Lamezia Terme to Tropea, with a stop in Pizzo Calabro
31 May: final stage from Capo Vaticano to Gioia Tauro, passing through Limbadi
The official start will be Saturday 24 May from Polignano a Mare, with an inaugural moment between sport and culture. From there, every day will be a new opportunity to discover the authentic soul of Southern Italy, cycling through hills, historical centres, archaeological sites and breathtaking stretches of coastline.
