Sila Express, by train to the National Park

On Sunday 20 July 2025, hop aboard the Sila Express, the new tourist rail route promoted by the Calabria Railway Association as part of the Railtour – Travel by Train and Discover Calabria project. An immersive experience that combines regional trains, bus transfers and the historic Sila Train, allowing you to enjoy a day of discovery, railway history and the beautiful Calabrian landscape.

The journey starts from the main stations on the Tyrrhenian coast – including Reggio Calabria Centrale, Lamezia Terme Centrale, Sapri and Scalea – and arrives at Paola station. From here, a comfortable bus transfer will take participants to Camigliatello Silano, the starting point of the exciting journey aboard the Sila Train towards San Nicola-Silvana Mansio, along one of the highest tourist lines in Europe.

The event is part of the second day of the Miss Reginetta d'Italia 2025 competition, with a spectacular stop at Sculca station, enlivened by a spectacular historical re-enactment: the assault on the train by bandits, organised by the Railway Tourism and Entertainment Association. The trip will also be an opportunity to taste the authentic flavours of Sila, thanks to a tasting of typical hot and cold products.
