ProiettiAMO

The Municipality of Belvedere Marittimo, in the aim of enhancing its territory, wants to realise a film event for the first time. The "ProiettiAMO" project proposal aims to stimulate the promotion of Calabrian cinema in correspondence with arrivals and presences during the high season, realising a sustainable tourist promotion programme in order to enhance the cultural heritage, typical and identity products, traditions and customs of the community. At the same time, the implementation of the following project proposal aims at enhancing certain areas of the historic centre of Belvedere, places that appear as natural stages in which to create sustainable tourism development.

Detailed programme

The project includes four evenings (2 in July and 2 in August) of screenings of Calabrian cinematographic works and a review of short films to involve neighbouring realities operating in the world of filmmaking.

21 and 22 July 2023 (historic centre, Piazza Palmento):
- Screening of the film "Una femmina" with guest Lina Siciliano
- Projection of the film "Regina" with the presence of the director Alessandro Grande

Artistic direction will be provided by Francesco Garritano, director of the "Scirocco Film Academy", the first film school on the Riviera dei Cedri. After the screenings, the event will include the opportunity to taste typical local products belonging to Belvederese traditions, different for each evening, offering a variety of flavours interwoven with tradition with different themes, so that tourists can delight in and get to know different dishes from savoury to sweet. In addition, emphasis will be placed on the typical Belvederese product Gilò, recently awarded the De.Co. mark. Finally, there will be the promotion of itineraries in the historic centre.
