Cinema in the Library

The programme of the "Cinema in the Library" project includes the screening of 12 films in original language with Italian subtitles; the review, curated by the UNA Cultural Association, will start on 24 March 2024 at 6 p.m., in the multipurpose room of the Cloister of San Domenico, with the Spanish film "Rosa's Wedding". The festival will continue until next October; from June to September, screenings will be held in the courtyard of Nicotera Palace, always at 9 p.m. Cinema in the Library will close on 6 October 2024 with the film Babylon, scheduled at 6 p.m. again in the Cloisters.

Antonio Canzoniere, artistic director of the festival, gave a detailed description of the films chosen for the 11th edition of the festival, which represent a rich overview of foreign productions with high-level actors and impressive stories.

Giacinto Gaetano, head of the Lametino Library System, explained that the "Cinema in the Library" project is one of the eight Calabrian projects financed by the Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. The project will last 18 months and aims to turn public libraries into places of social inclusion.
