On Saturday 4 October 2025, Gran Caffè Renzelli in Cosenza will participate in Italy's National Historic Cafés Day, opening its doors for guided tours and tastings starting at 6:00 p.m.
Founded in 1803, Caffè Renzelli is part of the Association of Historic Places of Italy. Located a few steps from the Cathedral, it retains the charm of yesteryear with its large windows, Art Nouveau furnishings, 'red' and 'green' rooms, and velvet sofas. Over the centuries, it has welcomed generations of Cosenza residents, artists and public figures, becoming a veritable cultural salon of the city.
During the event, you can learn about the café's 200-year history and taste the specialities that have made it an icon of Italian pastry-making, including the famous varchiglia alla monacale, bocconotti with cream and black cherry, divino amore and artisan nougat.
