The Magna Graecia Train offers a dedicated itinerary for discovering the villages of Sant'Andrea Apostolo dello Ionio and Badolato, with the chance to explore the history, traditions and landscapes of the Ionian coast of Calabria.
As part of the FAI Spring Days 2026, you can spend a day immersed in history, art and local traditions. You will travel by train to Soverato station and then continue to the villages by dedicated transfer.
First, the route leads to the historic centre of Sant'Andrea Apostolo dello Ionio, where a guided walk takes you to some of the village's most notable sites, including the civic tower of the ancient castle, the Mother Church with its valuable artworks, and historic buildings showcasing local craftsmanship.
In the afternoon, the itinerary continues to Badolato, one of the most charming villages on the Ionian coast. It is renowned for its medieval urban layout and network of alleys offering sea views. Here, a guided tour takes in historic squares, ancient churches and panoramic views, offering an insight into the village's stories, traditions and symbolic places.
The trip concludes with a return to Soverato and departure on the regional train.
