On Saturday 11 October 2025, starting at 7:00 p.m., the Norman-Swabian Castle in Cosenza will be illuminated with The Night of the Moon, an event that is part of the global initiative International Observe the Moon Night, promoted by NASA and celebrated simultaneously across the planet.
The event, organised by the Cosenza Youth City Council in collaboration with the Department of Physics of the University of Calabria, will be a special opportunity to experience science in an engaging and accessible way. The programme includes informative seminars led by researchers and experts, guided telescopic observations of the Moon, and moments dedicated to astrophysics and the wonders of the cosmos.
The protagonists will also be students from local schools, who will be asked to present scientific projects dedicated to our natural satellite. The three best projects will receive recognition from a Scientific Committee, testifying to the value of shared knowledge and the commitment of the younger generation.
