San Francesco di Paola International Opera Competition

After a break of about five years, one of the most eagerly awaited events on the Calabrian music scene makes its return: from 8 to 10 June 2025, the Politeama Theatre in Catanzaro will host the 17th edition of the ‘’San Francesco di Paola‘’ International Opera Competition, dedicated to young opera talents.

The competition, aimed at opera singers of all nationalities up to the age of 35, confirms itself as an important showcase for new generations, thanks to a jury of the highest international profile committed to promoting new voices in the opera scene. In addition to the total prize money of €10,000, the initiative offers scholarships, masterclasses, artistic writing and concerts, offering the winners concrete opportunities for growth and visibility.

The event will end with a Gala evening and the official award ceremony, an event that celebrates talent, passion for opera, and the deep connection with the Italian opera heritage and Calabrian culture.
