One stage, a thousand emotions

The Politeama Mario Foglietti Theatre presents its 2025-2026 Artistic Season, a journey through prose, music, opera and comedy that will bring some of the most beloved stars of the Italian stage to the theatre. From December to April, Catanzaro's grand theatre will be the place to be surprised, moved and transported by the magic of live performance.

The season opens on 13 December with Benvenuti in casa Esposito starring Giovanni Esposito, a compelling comedy combining irony and tradition. It continues on 20 December with the unmistakable energy of the Duke Fisher Heritage Singers Gospel Concert, followed by the traditional New Year's Concert on 3 January, performed by the Calabria Philharmonic Orchestra.

January brings Ninni Bruschetta and Claudio 'Greg' Gregori to the stage with A mirror, an entertaining theatrical foray with a surreal tone, while 23 January will see Enzo Decaro & Anema with Renatissimo, a passionate tribute to Renato Carosone. Closing the month on 30 January is the visionary art of Flavia Mastrella and Antonio Rezza with Metadietro.

February sees the arrival of two great performers from the Italian scene: Gianfelice Imparato in Il medico dei pazzi (5 February) and Emma Dante with L'angelo del focolare (13 February). On 21 February, it's time for music and comedy with Francesco Paolantoni in Si ride a crepafavole.

The opera season returns on 14 March with Il Barbiere di Siviglia, performed by the Calabria Philharmonic Orchestra and the Sicilian Opera Choir, with a matinee dedicated to students the day before. This is followed on 24 March by the magnetic elegance of Drusilla Foer with Venere nemica, and on 28 March by the narrative voice of Ascanio Celestini in Poveri cristi.

The end of the season on 10 April features a concert by Simona Molinari, La donna è mobile, a sophisticated event combining original music and jazz atmospheres.
