The Teatro Rendano in Cosenza hosts the first performance of Fortunata di Dio, a play dedicated to Natuzza Evolo, the Calabrian mystic from Paravati, a hamlet in the municipality of Mileto, who was recognized as a servant of God in 2019. The show debuts on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 9:00 p.m., with a repeat performance on Sunday, May 24, at 5:00 p.m.
The production by Show Net s.r.l., with text by Andrea Ortis and Ruggero Pegna and original music by Francesco Perri, brings to the stage the extraordinary life of a woman who welcomed thousands of people for decades, offering words of comfort and hope through prayer. The Calabrian actress Annalisa Insardà plays the leading role, while Andrea Ortis is the director.
Natuzza Evolo, born in 1924 and who passed away in 2009, experienced mystical phenomena that attracted the attention of believers from all over the world. Her memory lives on today in the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Refuge of Souls in Paravati, which has become an international pilgrimage destination.
This is an opportunity to discover one of the most significant spiritual figures in Calabria, in a show that combines theater, music, and reflection on the themes of faith and human solidarity.
