From Friday 8 to Sunday 10 August 2025, Morano Calabro will host the sixteenth edition of the Memorial delle Stelle, a well-established event that combines sport, music and community participation in memory of young fellow citizens who died prematurely. The initiative, promoted by the historic organizing committee and the GameOn Events Morano association, is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Morano, which has included it in its summer cultural program.
The program opens on Friday, August 8, at 5:00 p.m. with the celebration of Holy Mass in the area in front of the gym of the former “G. Scorza” Middle School. At 6:00 p.m., the volleyball tournament, the heart of the event, will be inaugurated. Starting at 9:00 p.m., the evening will come alive with live music by Music Lab 432Hertz and the Euforia Band, followed by a DJ set by DJ Altobelli.
On Saturday, August 9, starting at 6:30 p.m., along with the volleyball matches, there will be entertainment for children and families, with magic and games by the Mastro Simone Sisters. The evening will continue at 9:30 p.m. with a show by Marco Francomano and music by DJ Altobelli.
On Sunday, August 10, the action gets underway with the tournament final, scheduled for 8:00 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony at around 9:00 p.m. The final evening will culminate at 10:00 p.m. with the Party delle Stelle, featuring music by Beat's 90 and a DJ set by Tanir Alla.
Mayor Mario Donadio expressed his heartfelt thoughts, emphasizing the profound value of the event: "Initiatives such as these, which combine sports and the joy of celebration with the widespread desire to share, generate an intense emotional charge and, despite their lightheartedness, become a collective embrace between those who travel through time and those who are no longer with us. To our loved ones who are experiencing eternity, we send our affectionate thoughts. It is therefore a moment of leisure, but one that offers many points for reflection. To the promoters and to all those who, without exception, in one way or another, work with commitment and sacrifice for the success of the event, we offer our sincere thanks".
