On Friday, August 2, starting at 7:00 p.m., the Scolacium Archaeological Park will host an event dedicated to ancient and medieval music, organized as part of the “Educational Services in Places of Culture” program promoted by the Regional Directorate of Museums of Calabria and the Ministry of Culture

The evening will begin at the Norman Basilica with the first performance of medieval songs and music, which will introduce the audience to the evocative atmosphere of the ancient musical repertoire. The program will continue at 8:00 p.m. with a transfer to the museum, where an exhibition of medieval musical instruments will be set up, enriched by the presence of characters in period costume and accompanied by a new musical performance.
The event will be divided into several musical moments throughout the evening, with performances scheduled at 9:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m., and 11:15 p.m., all at the archaeological museum. During the breaks between musical performances, the audience will have the opportunity to participate in educational moments dedicated to the exhibition of musical instruments, which will allow them to deepen their knowledge of the musical techniques and traditions of the medieval period.
The initiative represents a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in history through music, enhancing the archaeological heritage of Scolacium with a special evening opening that will allow participants to enjoy the experience in a particularly evocative atmosphere, combining educational entertainment and cultural enhancement.
