On 26 August 2025, in the evocative setting of the San Giovanni Monumental Complex in Catanzaro, “The Broken Heart” will be staged, a theatrical and poetic tribute to Giuseppe Ungaretti, one of the most profound and tormented voices of the 20th century.
Produced by Graecalis and written by Luigi La Rosa, the show is a journey into the intimacy and power of Ungaretti's words, through the intense and measured interpretation of Salvatore Venuto. The dramaturgical journey touches on the great themes dear to the poet: war and memory, human suffering, pity, silence and the search for salvation. An essential and engaging theatrical experience, which restores all the lyrical power of verses born in the mud of the trenches, still capable today of touching deep and universal chords.
