On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September 2025, the Lametino Archaeological Museum will celebrate European Heritage Days, an initiative coordinated by the Ministry of Culture to promote Italy's historical and artistic heritage.
On Saturday 27, at 7 pm, there will be a cultural walk to discover the Monumental Complex of San Domenico, a former Dominican convent of great architectural, artistic and historical value. The tour, entitled 'The Complex of San Domenico between art and history. Pictorial cycles between the 17th and 18th centuries', will start from the Lametino Archaeological Museum and will visit the Church of San Domenico, the Cloister and the square in front of it. The visit will be guided by Mario Panarello, lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lecce, with the support of the Museum's educational services and archaeologist Antonio Vescio, together with volunteers from the Lametino Library System. Admission will cost a symbolic €1, excluding the free admissions provided for by law.
On Sunday 28 September, the Museum will be open for a guided tour of the institute's rooms, organised by the educational services, scheduled for 5 pm according to the usual access procedures.
