Educating through sport for sustainable development

On Monday, January 19, 2026, at 4:30 p.m., the Palazzo della Cultura in Locri will host the conference “Educating through sport for sustainable development”, as part of the GET – È Tempo di Educazione Globale (Global Education Time) project, promoted by CISP with GAL Terre Locridee and supported by the European Union and the International Olympic Committee's Olympism365 strategy. The initiative explores the role of sport in the education of young people, not only as a technical practice, but also as a tool for developing socio-emotional skills, citizenship, and environmental awareness, in line with the objectives of Agenda 2030.

The conference will compare local and international experiences, involving schools, sports associations, and institutions, to reflect on effective educational approaches and the application of Olympic values in everyday life. The participation of administrators, teachers, instructors, and representatives of sports organizations will offer an opportunity to promote the Locride area as a favorable context for sports education, promoting inclusion, health, equal opportunities, and sustainable development.
