Cetraro - Bee Friendly Town

On 15 December 2024, the heart of Cetraro will be transformed into a pulsating centre of tradition, sustainability and awareness with the event ‘Cetraro Bee Friendly Town’, an initiative that celebrates the vital role of bees for our ecosystem and promotes eco-sustainable development.

The central Piazza del Popolo will host food and wine and beekeeping stands where it will be possible to taste typical local products and honey, a symbol of the tradition and work of beekeepers from the Upper Tyrrhenian Sea. To enrich the atmosphere, traditional and Christmas music will be performed by Angelo Aloe and Piero Tucci.

At 4 pm, the prestigious Palazzo Del Trono will be the stage for a conference dedicated to the central theme of the initiative: the protection of bees. With talks by experts and academics, we will discover the crucial role of bees in the ecosystem and the nutritional properties of honey, with a special focus on the Mediterranean diet.
