Calabria through Stories

Cirò Marina is hosting a forum dedicated to the link between myth, archaeology and haute cuisine, with Calabrian extra virgin olive oil taking centre stage. On 21 December 2025, Max Trattoria Enoteca will host the third edition of the forum Calabria through Stories, a day that brings together history, landscape, health and taste through talks by archaeologists, scholars, journalists and chefs from the area. The event returns after the success of the last edition as a 'nostos', a journey to the roots of a land that is a crossroads of peoples, where oil represents identity and relationships in the Mediterranean.

The forum offers a journey that evokes the indigenous civilisation of the Oenotrians and the figure of King Italo, thanks to contributions from archaeology and myth, showing how the culture of oil has ancient origins. The experts' stories are accompanied by the creations of chefs and producers, highlighting current local products, Calabrian cuisine and the intangible traditions of the five provinces, together with the villages, archaeological sites, museums and linguistic minorities of the area.
