Between Taste and Knowledge

The event will consist of four days of major events and will take place from 18 to 22 August 2023. The event was created to give value to the agri-food chain, handicrafts and sustainable tourism, proposing traditional dishes and sweets, excursions and theatrical and musical events in places rich in natural resources and an artistic heritage of great value. It is an opportunity to rediscover and re-evaluate the territory, its food and wine activities, certified products, landscapes full of history and culture and unspoilt corners.

2023 will also mark the 500th anniversary of the arrival in Petilia Policastro of the Holy Thorn, one of the thorns from the crown placed on Jesus Christ's head at the moment of his crucifixion. The sacred thorn is an important part of Petilia's history. It is the salient feature of the identity of a people everywhere.
