On 14 December 2025, Catanzaro will host Babbo Running, Italy's largest Christmas race. This event combines fun, exercise and festive spirit, transforming the city centre into a 5 km course animated by hundreds of participants dressed as Santa Claus.
Established in 2011 and now in its 15th edition, Babbo Running is a fun sporting event designed for all ages. It is an initiative that brings together enthusiasts, families and groups of friends on a day that anticipates Christmas with an atmosphere of enthusiasm and sharing.
The race is a real street show: a collective moment in which the city is filled with colour, smiles and energy, becoming the stage for a pre-Christmas party that is eagerly awaited every year. It is a dynamic and light-hearted opportunity to experience the city centre in a different way and to exchange greetings in an atmosphere of pure joy.
