On 23 October 2025 at 6 p.m., the Marca Museum in Catanzaro will host the national premiere of 'Smile', a new production by Ocram Dance Movement in collaboration with Scenario Pubblico – Centro di rilevante interesse per la danza.
The show, choreographed by Marco Laudani and Claudio Scalia, intertwines two creations – Espresso and Cheers – united by the common thread of the smile, a gesture that is both fragile and powerful, which becomes a universal language capable of crossing cultures, eras and emotions.
In Espresso, designed for two performers, the iconic Italian drink becomes a metaphor for love told through glances and courtship, with an ironic touch that questions the stereotypical view of Italians in the eyes of a foreigner. With Cheers, a piece for five dancers, the stage is transformed into a toast to life: a hymn to sharing and joy, with references to classical poetry and atmospheres evoking Greek banquets and Latin influences.
The event will be preceded at 4.30 pm by an open contemporary dance class, a special opportunity to learn about body language and the creative universe of Ocram Dance.
