Serra San Bruno, a spiritual heart hidden from the world


Serra San Bruno is one of the most interesting tourist locations of the Calabrian mountains. A tourist, spiritual, artisan and agricultural centre, it is located between the Sila mountains and the Aspromonte. Its buildings still retain their untouched 18th-century features; the thick pine and fir forests and the thousand-year old woods, similar to an Alpine resort, are the ideal destination for hikers.

Serra San Bruno owes its origins to the monk Bruno of Cologne, founder of the Carthusian Order, who received as a gift from Count Roger the Norman,

The entire town, with its churches, monasteries and charterhouses is immersed in an aura of mysticism and deep spirituality.
