Spiaggia di Rivachiara, Sellia Marina - Margherita Cardamone

The name evokes crystal clear waters, and indeed Rivachiara Beach, in the municipality of Sellia Marina, north of the Gulf of Squillace, is a stretch of Ionian coastline particularly appreciated for the quality of its sea. It is so clean that it has been awarded the Blue Flag, an important recognition that also rewards the beauty of the landscape and the quality of services offered to tourists. The seabed is shallow and slopes gently, ideal for safe swimming or snorkelling.

The beach has very fine white sand and pebbles, is not crowded even in summer, is largely free and bordered by a vast, dense pine forest where you can find refreshment during the hottest hours of the day. It is these characteristics that make Rivachiara Beach an ideal place for families with children, but it is also frequented by groups of young people, who can spend several hours by the sea or play beach volleyball and football. As an alternative to the free beach, there are also equipped beach clubs, restaurants and bars offering music and aperitifs at sunset. Rivachiara Beach is located just five kilometres from Catanzaro Lido. It can be reached by taking the Strada Statale 106 Jonica (E90), exiting onto Viale Chiaro, then taking Viale Rivachiara and following it to the end.
