Scoglio della Regina, Guardia Piemontese - Regione Calabria
The symbol of Marina di Guardia Piemontese, a seaside resort located along the Riviera dei Cedri, is undoubtedly the Scoglio della Regina (Queen's Rock). This rock formation, approximately twenty metres high, rises up a short distance from the beach and its iconic silhouette, illuminated by the sunset, is one of the most beautiful memories for those who spend their summer holidays here. The coastline is characterised by sand mixed with pebbles and rocks of various sizes and a generally clean and almost always calm sea, with a rapidly sloping seabed. The deep seabed is suitable for those who love swimming, also because the Scoglio della Regina is easily accessible and the fascinating underwater environment is a continuous discovery for those who enjoy snorkelling.
Guardia Piemontese is a very popular beach in summer, suitable for holidaymakers of all ages, families with children or groups of young people, also due to its proximity to the spa renowned for its sulphurous waters. The characteristic historic centre of this small town founded by the Waldensians is located on the hill, where the ancient watchtower overlooking the sea stands. It is easily accessible via the SS18 road and there are several car parks near the beach. To spend a relaxing day on the beach at Guardia Piemontese, you can choose between long stretches of free beach and equipped bathing establishments. There are shops, bars, restaurants and pizzerias along the seafront.
