One of the most eagerly awaited events of the Calabrian summer is back: the Wheat Festival in San Vincenzo La Costa is ready to offer a weekend of excitement, flavours and popular culture. An event rooted in ancient farming traditions, which every year involves the entire community in re-enactments, workshops, shows and activities for all ages. The programme:
Friday 4 July
- 5pm | Gathering in the Motta area for the traditional log pulling, with a travelling performance by the folk group “Ni chiamanu i Briganti”
- 8.30pm | Timugna setting
- 9pm | Briscola tournament and treasure hunt
Saturday 5 July
- 5:00 p.m. | Popular games for young and old
- 6:00 p.m. | Wheat threshing and Mursiaddru, to rediscover ancient gestures and scents of the earth
- 7:00 p.m. | Thematic conference
- 9:30 p.m. | Grand concert by Etnosound, featuring music, dance and folklore
