The Train of Flavours - Taste itinerary in Bagnara

The Train of Flavours, a special opportunity to discover the main production activities of the Pearl of the Costa Viola and taste typical local products by participating in food and wine festivals, with the convenience of leaving your car and reaching Bagnara Calabra by train from the main towns served by the Tyrrhenian railway line.

The taste itinerary in Bagnara will take place on two different days: 25 April and 1 May 2024.

The guided tour will take place on both days in the same way: a transfer from Bagnara station by bus (thanks to the collaboration with the transport company STAR-BUS by Soldano) will accompany travellers to the ancient ovens where the now famous Pellegrina Wheat Bread is produced, where they will be able to watch the production phases, participate in small tastings and purchase the valuable products. Afterwards, they will discover the Artistic Ceramics workshops, where it will be possible to get to know and appreciate the skill of the master ceramists and purchase unique pieces at factory prices.

The tour also includes a visit to the town's main monuments, including the historic Church of the Carmine and the Church of the SS. Rosario where important works of art are kept. Starting from the Chiesa del Carmine, it will be possible to appreciate the most striking views of Bagnara, including the Caravilla Bridge and the Ruffo Castle, and enjoy the view of the town and the Strait of Messina from the Belvedere.

The tour will continue on 25 April with the Costa Viola Fair with food and wine tastings of Blue and Swordfish, while on 1 May it will be possible to participate in the famous Swordfish Festival.
