The Gardener tells

On 6, 20 and 27 October 2024, it will be possible to take part in a special guided tour of the protected area of the Giants of Sila, managed by the FAI in collaboration with Sila National Park. This event will offer the opportunity to discover the rules of protection and maintenance of the area, which are fundamental for the protection of biodiversity and the local ecosystem.

During the visit, Gianluca Cardamone, Head Gardener of the Giganti della Sila, will accompany participants on a tour that will illustrate the crucial role of the flora and fauna present in the site. In particular, emphasis will be placed on the ecological importance of the mushrooms that, at this time of year, enrich the undergrowth at the foot of the monumental trees, contributing to the health of the entire habitat.

The visits, each lasting two hours, will start at 10 a.m. and 12 noon, offering a total immersion in Sila's nature and the secrets of its delicate balance. An opportunity to get to know at first hand the hidden life of the forest and the commitment to its preservation.
