The eagerly awaited Taurianova Flower Festival takes place this year from 20 to 23 June.
The town is preparing to repeat the success of last year's edition, aiming even higher with the artistic direction of Valentina Mammana, an artist of international renown, already president of the association that takes care of the famous Noto Flower Festival.
The Taurianova Flower Festival was born in 2016 thanks to the twinning between the Pro Loco Taurianova nel Cuore and the Pro Loco of Noto.
This year's theme wants to pay homage doubly to the city, which has recently been awarded the title of "Italian Book Capital 2024", by associating the Taurianova Flower Festival with the theme "The magic of comics meets ephemeral art".
Based on this theme, the 2024 edition envisages the creation of 18 floral paintings each measuring 24 square metres, i.e. a huge floral carpet completely covering Corso XXIV Maggio.
Each of the sketches reproduces one of the world's most famous comic book characters, against a background that recalls the most beautiful and representative places in Calabria.
