The exhibition “Stories of extraordinary normality”, inaugurated at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni “Ex STAC” in Catanzaro, recounts the experiences of children, adolescents, and families treated by the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department of the “Renato Dulbecco” University Hospital. The initiative explores the theme of illness as a context in which to continue living the desire for everyday life, transforming fragility and difficulty into narrative, color, and creativity.
Through photographs, works of art, and texts created by young patients, the exhibition presents stories of courage, authenticity, and resilience, highlighting the role of families and the community in the treatment process. Workshops, readings, and moments of sharing have allowed the young people to become protagonists of their own experiences, transforming creativity into a tool for emotional support.
Open until January 31, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the exhibition offers a sensitive and participatory look at illness, treatment, and the possibility of building a new and authentic normality.
