Sounds and scents dance in the evening air

On Saturday 16 September, as part of the "Armonie della Magna Grecia" Festival, Acqua degli Dei organised a very special concert by pianist Emilio Aversano, entitled "Sounds and scents dance in the evening air". The concept itself, unique in its kind, aims to bring to life a marriage of music and perfumes. The pieces chosen are in fact the interpretation in music of the scents Acqua degli Dei. And so Maestro Aversano will perform:

L. VAN BEETHOVEN - Sonata Opus 27 No. 2 "In the Moonlight"
In the GOLD fragrance, the intensity of the notes of tuberose, the flower of mystery that blooms at night in the moonlight, creates a conceptual assonance between the piece and the mysterious and inscrutable figure of Beethoven. The enveloping and intimate atmosphere of the piece ties in perfectly with the warm intensity and voluptuousness of GOLD.

F. LISZT - R. WAGNER - "Tristan and Isolde"
SCILLA, the perfume we have interpreted as the POWER OF LOVE was associated with Wagner's piece: a strong and intense love that cannot be experienced that finds a parallel in GLAUCO's strong and intense love for the nymph SCILLA that cannot be realised due to the jealous meddling of the sorceress CIRCE. Intense and at the same time transfigured and difficult loves.

F. CHOPIN - Studio Opera 25 No. 1 "Aeolian Harp"
The perfume CANTO DELLE SIRENE is linked to this piece by CHOPIN: a light and intense piece, just like the strings of the harp made to vibrate in the wind, evoking the equanimity of the Sirens who attracted sailors with their voices and lyres. Aquaticity, lightness of wind and intensity of content that the very perfume Canto delle Sirene sought to translate into olfaction.

L. VAN BEETHOVEN - Sonata Opus 31 No. 2 "The Tempest"
The figure of the hero Ulysses is associated with Beethoven, his deafness also becoming a parallelism with the deafness induced in Ulysses by his companions who sprinkled wax on his ears so that he could not hear his singing. The chosen piece, the Third Tempo, in its incessant movement, in its constant, continuous pressing evokes the entire journey and the hero's continuous waiting before returning to Ithaca.

D. SCARLATTI - "Two Sonatas"
In these two pieces we rediscover that impertinent lively and unpredictable character that was the monster Charybdis, whose legend lives on in the fresh, deep and lively fragrance CARIDDI, reproposed by Acqua degli Dei.

CHOPIN - Two Nocturnes - Opus 9
Chopin composed his nocturnes at night. His most prolific production took place on the island of Majorca. We associate the new Acqua degli Dei METE DI MARE perfume with this piece and its connection to an endless sea destination in the blue Mediterranean.

C. DEBUSSY - Prelude No. 4 from the first book of Preludes
The author was inspired by Baudelaire's poem "Les sons et les parfums tournent dans l'air du soir". The music has an intense lightness just like the BLUE fragrance of Acqua degli Dei. Sounds and scents embrace and are one in this magical evening.
