"Rose in the Glass" competition

The award ceremony of the national literary competition ‘La rosa nel bicchiere’ (The rose in the glass), launched last September and addressed to pupils and students from all over Italy, is scheduled for 18 June 2024 at 5.30 pm. The main purpose of the initiative was to urge learners to increase their knowledge of a great 20th century Italian literary author, Franco Costabile, a Calabrian poet who is still topical for the themes dealt with in his works.

The promoters of the competition requested the creation of original texts and digital works to highlight the diversity of experiences, sensitivities and socio-cultural backgrounds. The theme on which the contestants worked was ‘The Rose in the Glass’, a composition that is somewhat of a ‘manifesto’ of Costabile's poetics.

The award ceremony will take place in Lamezia Terme in the hall of the former Bishop's Seminary, in the presence of the institutional authorities and the participating school communities.
