A fascinating journey through textures, colours and ancient craft skills: this is the spirit of ‘Remnants of Memory. The decorative culture in the textile manufactures of Catanzaro', the permanent exhibition set up in the heart of the city, in the renovated spaces of the Historical Library of the Catanzaro Crotone Vibo Valentia Chamber of Commerce.
The exhibition, which can be visited free of charge from 30 May to 31 October 2025, tells the story of Catanzaro's great silk tradition through more than thirty precious specimens of textiles - damasks, silks, weaves and decorative remnants - made between the 16th and 20th centuries, many of which come from private collections. A cultural and artistic heritage that becomes visible again, in an exhibition that restores value to the memory of a refined art that made Catanzaro famous far beyond the regional borders.
