On Monday 4 August 2025, in the new setting of the small square in Via Ferrovia in Botricello, the fourth edition of the “Pride of Botricello” Award will be held, an award dedicated to the memory of magistrate Federico Bisceglia, which celebrates individuals who have distinguished themselves for their commitment, talent and connection to Calabria.
This year's two nationally renowned award winners are Domenico Guarascio, chief prosecutor of Crotone, known for his investigations into organised crime and environmental crimes, and Floriano Noto, a successful Calabrian entrepreneur and president of U.S. Catanzaro 1929, a leading figure in the regional economic and sporting world. Alongside them, the Municipal Council paid tribute to four outstanding women from the area:
- Giovanna Moscato, school principal and writer,
- Danula Garigliano, oncologist at Crotone Hospital,
- Concetta Russo, artist and teacher,
- Nadia Papaleo, Red Cross volunteer and vice-president of the CRI Committee in Catanzaro.
It was an evening of great civic and cultural significance, in which Botricello rallied around those who, through their daily commitment, add value to the area and proudly represent its best qualities.
