Mottafollone comes alive for the 40th edition of Carnival

The municipality of Mottafollone, in the province of Cosenza, will host the 40th edition of the Mottafollone Carnival from February 15 to 17, 2026.
The event will take place over three days. On Sunday, February 15, Piazza Indipendenza will host the Children’s Carnival with dedicated entertainment and activities. On Monday, February 16, a Carnival show will be held at the school building in Via G. Giolitti for local students. The main celebration is on Tuesday, February 17, featuring a parade of allegorical floats and masked groups starting at 2:00 p.m. from Piazzale Campo Sportivo. The program includes traditional Carnival attractions, street performers, traveling shows, and tastings of typical local foods organized by community associations. In the afternoon, festivities continue in Piazza Indipendenza with more shows and entertainment, concluding at 8:00 p.m. with the award ceremony.
The event includes a competition with awards for the best floats and masked groups, divided into different categories based on the number of participants. Those interested in participating can register until February 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
