Melancholic - Moderately Happy
The ironic and disarming monologue of the most humane lawyer in Italian literature

Theatrical
Following his success in publishing and television, Vincenzo Malinconico arrives at the theatre with Melancholic - Moderately Happy, a play written by Diego De Silva and Massimiliano Gallo, which brings to the stage the voice – and body – of one of the most beloved characters in contemporary fiction.
Massimiliano Gallo takes to the stage, alongside Biagio Musella, Eleonora Russo, Diego D'Elia, Greta Esposito and Manuel Mazia, directed by Gallo himself. The sets are designed by Luigi Ferrigno, the costumes by Eleonora Rella, the lighting design by Alessandro Di Giovanni, with original songs by Joe Barbieri. Produced by Diana Or.i.s.
Vincenzo Malinconico is an unsuccessful lawyer with an uncertain career and a complicated love life. It is precisely this fragility, far from the 'winning' model, that has made him close to an audience that recognises itself in the imperfections, doubts and hesitations of everyday life.
The show unfolds as a long, confidential monologue, a narrative flow that is both philosophical and irresistibly comical, in which Malinconico recounts his stumbling between work, relationships, expectations and responsibilities. With irony and lucidity, he tackles the constant 'trials' that life imposes on us, questioning our place in the world.
The event is scheduled for 31 March and 1 April 2026 at the Teatro Cilea in Reggio Calabria and on 2 April 2026 at the Teatro Grandinetti Comunale in Lamezia Terme.
