Laduesse is a non-competitive, free-participation cycling event scheduled for 21 September 2024.
The aim of the Laduesse, in addition to encouraging aggregation, is to promote a healthy lifestyle and outdoor activity with beneficial effects on health, as well as to enhance the cultural, historical and natural heritage of the area crossed (the territories of the ancient Feud of San Severino), which winds along the Pollino Park overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea to the innermost areas, entirely within the province of Cosenza.
In addition, also thanks to the "slow" characteristics of the cycling movement, it aims to enhance the excellences (landscape, food and wine and tourism) of the areas crossed, urge respect for the environment and nature with responsible behaviour, and highlight the vocation of the Cosenza area for an Experiential Tourism.
The Laduesse passes through the municipalities of Sangineto, Belvedere Marittimo, Sant'Agata d'Esaro, San Sosti, San Donato di Ninea, Acquaformosa, Lungro, Firmo and Altomonte.
Along the route there will be stops designed to draw participants' attention to places of interest, monuments, squares, historical centres, places of worship, natural beauty, involving local communities and businesses. During Laduesse, participants will also have the opportunity to sample the cuisine and purchase local food and wine products along the tour.
Two starting points were chosen for this second edition: Sangineto Castle and Serragiumenta Castle in Altomonte.
