On Saturday 4 October 2025, at 9 p.m., the Pythagoras Planetarium in Reggio Calabria will host the sixteenth edition of 'International Moon Night'. Since 2010, this event has brought together enthusiasts and curious minds from all over the world for a single evening dedicated to observing our natural satellite.

The initiative, promoted by NASA and supported in Italy by the Italian Astronomical Society and the National Institute of Astrophysics, offers a journey through science, art, and culture.

The evening will feature an in-depth look at the physical characteristics of the Moon, its genesis, and its role in mythology, poetry, and music, exploring all the artistic forms inspired by the night sky. After the theoretical part, weather permitting, it will be possible to observe the Moon through a telescope from the Planetarium square, admiring the play of light and shadow on craters and lunar seas. The experience is enriched by the observation of Saturn, the famous 'lord of the rings', for an unforgettable encounter with the starry sky.
