On 24 January 2026 at 16:30, the Dominican Convent of San Giorgio Morgeto will host the inauguration of "Inside the light of an idea", the first immersive and themed room dedicated to Tommaso Campanella. This project aims to promote the village, which is closely linked to the philosopher's biography as it was here that he underwent a significant period of his education.
It was here that Campanella, aged fifteen, took his vows in the Dominican Convent and took the name Tommaso in homage to St. Thomas Aquinas. This was a fundamental step that marked the beginning of his intellectual and spiritual journey, giving the village a central role in his personal history.
The new room aims to strengthen the connection between Campanella's ideas and the place that shaped his early years, celebrating a historical and cultural heritage deeply rooted in the local identity. The Dominican Convent will become a symbolic and cultural space where the memory of the philosopher is intertwined with the identity of the village, thus strengthening the relationship between history, place and community.
