Harmonies of Magna Graecia

On Monday 15 July 2024, starting at 9.30 p.m., the historic centre of the Costa degli Dei's best-loved village will host the travelling musical event Piano Time. The evening, a traditional appointment of the review Armonie della Magna Graecia, this year in its XXVII edition, will see various artists take turns in the same evening to perform in the most evocative and characteristic corners, offering an unforgettable experience to music lovers and not only.

The meeting point, in the heart of the Tropean night, is Largo Duomo. The programme includes a true musical journey, assisted by Prof. Pasquale Schiariti, who will reveal the most invisible secrets of these extraordinary corners. Each stage will be enriched by a different performance that will range across different eras and musical styles, offering the public an evening of great variety and artistic quality: Sara Zito (soprano) and Ida Visconti (piano) will perform famous opera arias from 'La Bohème' by G. Puccini; Enrico Vallone (guitar) will play music by Rodrigo, Lauro and Tárrega, taking the audience on a journey through the masterpieces of the guitar repertoire; Liliana Parisi (piano) will perform music by M. Murail and T. Jarrell, offering a performance of fascinating contemporary compositions; Eleonora Pisano (soprano) and Raffaella De Vita (piano) will present chamber arias by G. Puccini, adding an intimate and refined touch to the evening. Maestro Emilio Aversano, on piano, will conclude the evening with music by F. Chopin, the poet of the piano.

The walk will start from Piazza Duomo at 9.30 p.m. and will wind through the historic centre in a route to be discovered. The evening will not only be an opportunity to enjoy the notes of the best classical music, but also to fully experience the charm of Tropea's historic centre and the magic it offers on summer nights, with its historic streets and squares that, together with the breathtaking panorama, will provide the backdrop for this event dedicated to art and beauty.
