Football is Art

From 14 December 2024 to 3 March 2025, the Civic Art Gallery of Reggio Calabria will host the exhibition ‘’Football is Art‘’, a unique event that transforms football into a bridge between sport, culture and solidarity.

The exhibition, which marks the first stage of a world tour of 50 dates in two years, offers an exciting journey through cups, historical jerseys, trophies, paintings and iconic relics that have written legendary pages of football. Among the exhibits are the uniforms worn by Maradona, Baggio and Messi, the blue jerseys from the 1982 and 2006 World Cups, the cast of Pelé's feet, the leather ball from the historic 1960 European Cup final between Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt, and Ronaldinho's Golden Ball from 2005.

But ‘’Football is Art‘’ is not only a celebration of the sport. During the three months of its opening, the exhibition will become a meeting point for great personalities from football, culture and journalism, who will animate a series of meetings on topics such as dialogue between peoples, the fight against racism, social redemption and football as an artistic expression and a global cultural phenomenon.
