From 17 July to 15 September 2025, Ellebi Galleria d'Arte will host Antonio Tropiano's solo exhibition, Error Vacui, curated by Davide Dormino. An intense and engaging project that focuses on the theme of emptiness in its many dimensions: physical, philosophical and spiritual.
In an age dominated by saturation – of stimuli, content, emotions – Tropiano reverses the trend and invites us to reflect on the immense potential of emptiness. Not absence, but origin. Not lack, but possibility. At the centre of his exhibition are the Schegge (Splinters), fragments of unchosen matter, sculptural residues that become symbols of creative freedom: forms in potential, not yet complete, but charged with meaning.
Through works such as Cunambulo, Senza le stelle and Icaro ancora senza titolo, Tropiano recounts how every artistic – and human – gesture starts from a lack. Emptiness, therefore, as creative tension, as a drive towards meaning. The culmination of the exhibition is Edenismi, a suspended and powerful work that reflects on the relationship between truth and fiction in a contemporary world where everything is constantly concealed.
With Error Vacui, Tropiano overturns the ancient fear of empty space, transforming it into a poetic invitation to inhabit it. Errare, meaning to err, but also to wander, becomes the key to a new way of knowing, feeling and being. An exhibition that is at once reflection and immersion, thought and matter, momentum and suspension.
